GENERAL GUIDELINES
Since our products are 100% hand made and due to the inherent variation in dimensions of our handcrafted products, we do not supply templates. We highly recommend using the actual sink before making any cuts in the counter top.
- Please follow all local building and plumbing codes & regulations.
- We strongly recommend that all our sinks be installed by a professional.
- Since all of our sinks are hand made (We do not provide templates for this reason) we strongly recommend using the actual sinks to do the cut outs and installation.
- Make sure that you leave enough space behind the sink for installing the faucet and backsplash. Actual trends include installing the faucet on the side of the basin or on the wall.
- Use 100% Silicone (non-water based) for all installations.
- Please do not use abrasive cleaners on copper sinks. Refer to our Copper Care section for more information.
- Large sinks and Tubs can be very heavy. Please use the appropriate help to lift and move heavy pieces in order to avoid personal injuries.
INSTALLATION – UNDERMOUNT (DROP IN)
- Use actual sink as your template. Place it upside down on countertop and mark countertop by tracing edge of basin (Outside Dimension)
- Measure inside edge of rim (Inside Dimension) and mark countertop appropriately inside of the line marked in point 1.
- Cut countertop on inside line and check for proper fitting.
- Apply silicone and set the sink in place.
- Use a level to make sure sink is leveled in all directions. Make corresponding adjustments.
- Mounting kits/bracket may be use for under mount installations. We do not sell mounting kits.
- Installed drain per drain instructions.
INSTALLATION - VESSEL (OVER THE COUNTER)
- Measure drain hole/opening on sink and cut counter top to this dimension.
- Place basin on top of countertop and make sure that the drain opening aligns with the opening of the countertop.
- Installed drain per drain instructions. The nut of the drainpipe will secure the basin to the countertop.
- Apply clear silicone between the outside edges of vessel where it is mounted to the countertop.
INSTALLATION - RAISED PROFILE (SINKS WITH APRONS)
- This set of instructions applies to the following type of sinks: Doisneau (VS013), Cartier - Bresson (VS014), Adams (VS015), Avedon (VS021), Capa (VS032), Vitali (VS023), Ray (VS022), Weege (VS024CV) , Hosoe (VS033), Capa Grande (VS034) and Giacometti (VS037CV), etc.
- Use actual sink as your template. Place it upside down on countertop and mark countertop by tracing edge of basin (Outside Dimension).
- Measure inside edge of rim (Inside Dimension) and mark countertop appropriately inside of the line marked in point 2.
- Cut countertop at inside dimensions of sink. Check for proper fit.
- OPTIONAL: Place the sink upside down and attach/glue wood blocks in the gap between the inside wall of the apron and the outside wall of the basin (front, back and sides). Make sure that the sink sits leveled/flushed on the countertop after you attached the wood blocks. Some of our models (Doisneau and Capas) come with wood underneath to facilitate the installation.
- OPTIONAL: Secure the sink to the countertop by attaching wood screws from underneath the countertop (make sure that the alignment is correct) and screw into wood blocks and/or use silicone on wood blocks to adhere to countertop. The nut and bolt of the drainpipe will also help secure the basin to the countertop.
- Some of our sinks like the Doisneau and Capas have already wood support underneath the sink between the inside wall of the apron and the outside wall of the sink making the installation much easier and secure.
- Apply silicone around rim of the sink.
- Use a level to make sure sink is leveled in all directions. Make corresponding adjustments.
- Mounting kits/bracket may be use for this type of installations.
- Installed drain per drain instructions.
